June Issue of Beauty Launchpad

The June 2010 Issue of Beauty Launchpad Magazine has hit the stands. In a feature column titled, "Did You Hear?", the Editor highlights Makeup Artists Raedawn Johnson and assistant Melvin Willis for their work on The Dream's new music video, "Love King (Remix)" which featured Mehron Makeup and a cameo appearance by Ludacris. The Mehron Blog revealed this story on April 23, 2010 and gave Mehron Blog readers a sneak peek thanks to Raedawn Johnson, Lead Mehron Makeup Artists at New York Fashion Week in 2009 and 2010. Ms. Johnson used Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ and Mehron Detailz in her work on "Love King (Remix), producing a variety of looks on the models in the music video by The Dream in record time.

The Smoky Eye Look

Freelance Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson, who was the lead Makeup Artist for Mehron at Fall 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City recently demonstrated how to get one of today's hot eye makeup look using Paradise Makeup AQ by Mehron. In a recent Blog on StyleCaster, Rachel Adler covered Raedawn Johnson's tips for creating the Smoky Eye Look. Raedawn uses Mehron Paradise Makeup AQ, a water activated cake makeup applied under the eye area, then uses a smudge brush or a finger to smudge the wet makeup before it dries. Ms. Adler notes that Raedawn Johnson demonstrated the technique using Black Paradise Makeup AQ by Mehron, but suggests that you the same look in shades of purple, violets and dark blues can also be accomplishment.

To highlight the difference, Raedawn uses a fine line of Black Paradise Detailz Liquid Makeup to the top lash line and the rim of the bottom inner eye, creating a contrasting detail with the smudged under eye makeup. Ms. Johnson finishes the look with a heavy application of pure Black Mascara.
