John Cameron's Avatar is touted as the future of cinema. Scheduled for release in December, Avatar will be be a 3-D. The John Cameron version of 3-D will be different than the occasional object flying at the audience. The entire screen will be 3-D throughout the entire movie. With technology lagging behind his vision, John Cameron took it upon himself to develop the camera equipment necessary to present his cinematic version of a 3-D film. Armed with an over 200 million dollar budget, Mr. Cameron has undertaken an ambition that he has had for over fifteen years.
The movie industry is anxiously awaiting the premier of Avatar, whispers throughout the industry are that this film will revolutionize films just as the switch from black and white television to color television programing changed the face of television.
This film revolution will affect all the crafts associated with creating a film, from the new technology that camera people will need to learn to the set creators to the Makeup Artist. Makeup Artists are already in the midst of adjusting to the detail needed for high definition video and film, now with the introduction of 3-D Makeup Artists will be adjusting again to compensate for the three dimensional presentation of the characters that they create with the magic of makeup. Airbrush Makeup, already becoming the standard in the film industry for all film will take another turn to accommodate the extra detailed required by 3-D film. In 2009 Mehron, Leaders in Professional Performance Makeup since 1927, introduced LUX Airbrush Makeup, a naturally based, enriched, highly pigmented airbrush makeup with the full, consistent pigmentation required for High Definition Film and Video.
LUX Airbrush Makeup has been embraced by all disciplines under the banner of Makeup Artist, including, Body Painters, Face painters, Theater Makeup Artists, and Special Effects Makeup Artists.
Special Effects Makeup Artists will have new challenges when creating their characters as a more comprehensive view of the character will have to be considered for every scene. The same short cuts used in film will no longer be available for the Special Effects Makeup Artists as the entire character will be seen in the new 3-D Film. Avatar will be the example of the future of the Makeup Artists in the Film Industry.
Just as it has for the last eight decades, Mehron will be ready to meet the challenge of the Makeup Future that the advent of 3-D Film presents. Being the innovators of the Makeup of the Future is nothing new for Mehron. Mehron has grown from the early days of Silent Films to the introduction of the next film revolution with the introduction of Avatar. The artistic endeavors and visions of the Makeup Artists of the Future will find the tools, colors, and makeup products they need from Mehron, the innovators of makeup produced in the USA, free from animal testing since 1927.
