Phil Nichols, an award winning Special Effects and Design Artist, along with his sister Melissa Nichols are co-owners of Facades FX, Makeup Lab and Creature Designs. The Nichols through their "Monster Lab" have created thousands of Special Effects Characters using a combination of FX Makeup and Design specialities. Their resume in the field of Special Effects work is enormous, dating back past the founding of Facades FX in 1987. Learning to use a natural talent in art under legendary Makeup Artist Dick Smith, Phil Nichols has earned a reputation in the Special Effects world that has nicknamed him, "The Fiendish Dr." Phil.
Currently working on a variety of film projects at once, the Nichols Team of Phil and Melissa have shared with Mehron previews of their Special Effects Work with Mehron Makeup. Phil was gracious enough to share some previews from their current project, Spoiled Rotten. A fair WARNING to Mehron Makeup Blog Readers, the images you are about to view are created by Facades FX using Mehron Mask Cover Pallet, Fantasy FX--Monster Grey, Zombie Flesh, Soft Beige, Color Cups--Burgundy, Monster Grey, Black, Liquid Latex Clear, Admed Adhesive and Remover, Tooth Enamel--Nicotine, Black, Spinach, Stage Blood Light and Dark, Squirt Blood Light and Dark, and Blood Gel, however with Mehron Makeup in the creative hands of master FX Artists Phil Nichols and Melissa Nichols, these characters are all too real.
