The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences have announced the nominees for the 2010 Primetime Emmy Awards which will be held on Sunday August 29, 2010. By recognizing the distinction between the work of Makeup Artists for Prosthetic and Non-Prosthetic Makeup, The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences honors the workmanship and discipline involved in the accomplishments of Makeup Artists who become experts in the various fields that are encompassed by the term, Makeup Artist. As the field of Makeup Artistry continues to be more specialized, future categories of Emmy Awards may have to be added, however, for now The Academy of Television Arts and Sciences is to be commended for the distinctions that honor Makeup Artists and their unique specialties.
For an Episode of the ABC Studios hit show, Castle, Vampire Weekend, that Mehron Makeup contributed to, The Makeup Department of Castle, Headed by Debbie Zoller was nominated in both, Outstanding Makeup For A Single-Camera Series (Non-Prosthetic) and Outstanding Prosthetic Makeup For A Series, Miniseries, Movie Or A Special. For the Non-Prosthetic nomination Debbie Zoller, The Department Head Makeup Artist for Castle was nominated along with Key Makeup Artist, Debra Schrey, and Additional Makeup Artists, Rebecca Alling, Steve Anderson, and David De Leon. In the Prosthetic Category, Department Head Debbie Zoller was nominated along with Special Effects Makeup Artists Steve Prouty and Todd McIntosh. Mehron was proud to offer promotion material to Castle, Vampire Weekend, and applauds the nominations of this talented Makeup Department headed by Debbie Zoller.
All of the Makeup Artists that have been nominated throughout the Makeup Categories are saluted by Mehron Makeup, Leaders in Theatrical Makeup since 1927, for without the talents, vision and discipline of the Makeup Artist, the use of quality, professional makeup would not be as effective as it has become in the hands of these artists. When Mehron Makeup was founded in 1927, the profession of Makeup Artist was in its infancy, often times the Makeup Manufacturer was also the "Makeup Artist". Now as we anticipate the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, the various disciplines of the Makeup Artist warrant recognition. It is the growth of the niche Makeup Artist disciplines that keeps Mehron in the research laboratories developing innovative makeup to meet the needs of the visions of the specialty Makeup Artists of today, who envision a theatrical world where anything is possible and set out to create it day after day on the sets of Television Productions around the world.
