Fashion is presented at regional fashion shows throughout the world, some drawing the same names as New York Mercedes-Benz fashion Week and others showcasing the up and coming designers being recognized by fashion buyers. The first official venture for New York Fashion Week was the 2009 Fall Fashion Week. With the Fall 2010 Mercedes-Benz New York Fall Fashion Week drawing record crowds and press coverage not only throughout the Fashion News but also in Business News around the world, day number 6, September 14, 2010 will see Mehron Makeup collaborate with Fashion Designer Toni Francesc. Hailing from Spain, Mr. Francesc will present his newest Fashion Collection to the world at 9 PM at The Studio. This year will be the third appearance for Mehron Makeup at the world's most watched Fashion Week. Each year a team of independent Makeup Artists from all makeup disciplines form the Team of Mehron Makeup Artists who make Mehron Makeup shine on the Runways of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This year bi-coastal Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido will be heading the Team of Mehron Makeup Artists for the Toni Francesc Fashion Collection Presentation at Lincoln Center, New York City.

Ms. Mgidio has over a decade of Makeup Application experience working in Television and Films along with being a sought after instructor by young Makeup Artist Students. The resime of Jackie Mgido includes the Faculty of the Make-Up Designory (MUD), the much respected California Makeup School that produces disciplined, creative award winning makeup artists year after year. As a specialist in Beauty Makeup Application, Ms. Mgido has worked for Elle Magazine, the most prestigious of the Fashion Magazines in the world.

Born and raised in Zimbabwe, Africa, Jackie Mgido now splits her time between New York and Los Angles as she practices her art for various Television Networks, Film Studios, Fashion Magazines and Teaching. As a busy practitioner of the Art of Makeup Application, Ms. Mgido has worked the dial of Television Networks including, Bravo, Food Network, E Channel, ABC, CBS, and Fox.

In between teaching and working for Television Networks and Film Studios, the faces of celebrities such as Neil Patrick Harris, Vanessa Huggins, Jamie Fox, Snoop Dog, and George Lopez have been beautified by the work of Makeup Artist Jackie Mgido.

Fashion Week Begins in New York City

September 9, 2010 marks the beginning of a new era for New York City Fashion Week. The familiar setting of Bryant Park is now a part of Fashion Week History. The new Era of Fashion Week at the cultural hub of New York City, Lincoln Center is the new setting for Mercedes-Benz fashion Week. The 2010 Fashion Week opened with the Designs of Nicholas K, a New York based design company founded by the Nicholas Kunz and Christopher Kunz with the final presentation on September 16, 2010 at 9:00 PM by IVANhelsinki, featuring the artistic fashions of Paola Ivana Suhonen who runs the company with her sister Prijo. In between the bookends of these two family companies, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week will witness the premier of designs by Christian Siriano, Nicole Miller, Binetti, Tommy Hilfiger, Betsey Johnson, Toni Francesc, Anna Sui, Rebecca Moses and dozens of other Fashion Designers from around the world.

Mehron Makeup Adds to Legacy

On the final night of the first North American Body Painting Championship (NABPC), February 14, 2010, held in Las Vegas,NV, USA, Mehron Makeup Artists were busy behind the scenes at the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week show of Greek Fashion Designer, Vassilios Kostetsos. From February 12-14, 2010 Mehron Body Painting Makeup was used by Body Painting Makeup Artists in pursuit of the first NABPC title in the categories of Brush and Sponge and AirBrush Body Painting. Mehron Face and Body Painting Makeup got a workout at NABPC while across the country in New York City, Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup was in the spotlight at the first of two Fashion Week Shows in which it starred.

Both Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Shows in which Mehron Makeup partnered with an international Fashion Designer, has a Team of Mehron Makeup Artists led by Freelance Beauty Makeup Artist Raedawn Johnson. In conjunction with the theme of each show the Mehron Makeup Artist Team worked hand in hand with the Fashion Designers to accomplish and complete the look that they were seeking for their Fashion Week Presentation. In a show entitled, "Eros Anikate Machan", Athens Fashion Designer Vassilios Kostetsos presented a Fall 2010 collection that highlighted bright, vibrant colors. The Mehron Makeup Artist Team used the Mehron Extreme Beauty Makeup Collection to complete the the colorful look that Mr. Kostetsos was seeking. Translated from the ancient Greek as "Love, invincible in battle", the Mehron Makeup Team used Metallic Silver Powder blended with Mehron Mixing Liquid ala Body Painting Artists to create faux "Greek Helmets" on the male models representing the battle theme.

The second night of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the Mehron Makeup Team was on February 16, 2010 working with Barcelona Fashion Designer Toni Francesc on his show named, "Artificial Life". Taking a distinctly different approach to the colors of Fall 2010, Mr. Francesc opted for darker mineral colors which Mehron Makeup Artists complemented with an undefined smoky eye look, gold lip coloring created with Gold Metallic Powder blended with Mehron Mixing Liquid, and a dusting of Metallic Powder over a light cream foundation application.

As Mehron Makeup enters its 83rd year of Professional Makeup Formulation, the legacy continues to grow. From the Big Tent to the Fashion Tent

Long before the white canvas tents of New York City's Bryant Park Fashion Week Tents, Mehron Makeup starred in tents of a different sort. Mehron White Clown Face was the Clown Makeup of choice for the performers of the Greatest show on Earth as it traveled from town to town. In the early decades of the 1900's Clowns used more makeup than just about anyone, and they used it day after day as they performed twice a day under the Big Tent. New York Fashion and Mehron Makeup

After the Blizzard of 2010 blankets New York City, the famous White Tents of Bryant Park will be erected to host the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week for the final time. The February 2010 New York Fashion Week will be an historic event, it will be the last time that the runways are housed in the White Tents of Bryant Park on the fringe of the New York Garment District. The next and future New York Fashion Week presentations will move uptown to Lincoln Center. For Mehron Makeup this final Fashion Week in Bryant Park is also an historic event, it is the sophomore presentation of Mehron Fashion Makeup in conjunction with the Fashion Collections of two world renowned Fashion Designers. The September 2009 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week was the premier of Mehron Fashion Makeup in conjunction with the Fashion Collection presentation of Athens Fashion Designer Vassilios Kostetsos. For the encore presentation of Mehron Fashion Makeup, the Mehron Makeup Artist Team will again join Mr. Kostetsos as he shows his newest Fashion Designs to the New York Fashion World.
